Q: (18567)

I’d like to make plugging and unplugging a lot easier.
Which DeoxIT product is safe for this voltage and current?
Would the DeoxIT Fader make more sense since it’s got a higher about of lubricant?
Does DeoxIT add resistance?
Do I need to worry about arcing and flammability of the solution?

A:

Morning Gerald,

Use the DeoxIT® D-Series.

If power is off, you can use the D5S-6.

If power is on, “live”, I would recommend the non-flammable, DN5S-6N (DN5S-2N).
DeoxIT® does not add resistance, it decreases it.  Will also decrease temperature at the outlet, since it is decreasing resistance.
