    Q? (Water damage in a control room at our business): Q? Many of our building basement rooms where we have all of your control systems (communications, elevator systems, security, etc.) have water damage due to recent storms. Which products do you recommend to help get the systems back online?

    A! The two product lines (probably more products depending on the area needed), would be our DeoxIT® D-Series and DeoxIT® L260D Grease.

    DeoxIT® D-Series: Generally, use the DeoxIT® D-Series on all the lower voltage (under 10 amps) contacts and connections – all the metal electrical connections; relays, plugs, sockets, etc. – ANY metal that conducts electricity.

    DeoxIT® L260D Grease: UNIQUE NEW GREASE

    Electrical Uses: Use the DeoxIT® L260D Grease on the heavier duty electrical connections; power relays, disconnects, etc.  If there is severe corrosion; use one of the grease with particles – copper (conductive) or quartz (non-conductive) on contacts suited for one of these additives.  Keeps the metal surfaces protected even if grease us displaced or worn away.     Mechanical: The greases were also formulated to be used for mechanical applications; bearings, chains/sprockets, linear motion systems, plugs/threads, tracks/rails/drives, etc. Keeps the metal surfaces protected even if grease us displaced or worn away.     Q? (Microcontroller sockets): I plan on using your DeoxIT D-Series onto microcontroller sockets/pins. How long it is going to prevent the oxidation on the socket pins?

    A! For the first treatment, we recommended following the below guidelines, then spot check when you get to recommended re-treatment period.

    Adjust to time of re-treatment.

    Clean room = 10+ years

    Average = 5+ years

    High humidity/coastal = recommend re-treating every 2+ years

    High pollution/industrial = recommended re-treating 1+ year.
